Videos of Iceland Heli-Skiing & Heli-Boarding

To get a better idea of the heliskiing terrain in Iceland and Greenland and the overall experience here at Arctic Heli Skiing we invite you to grab some popcorn and sit back and watch some great little video clips shot over the years here with us. Enjoy.

Warren Miller Future Retro

In March of 2019 the Warren Miller crew paid Arctic Heli Skiing a visit. The snow gods delivered and freeskiers Baker Boyd and Victor Major enjoyed ripping around the endless peaks of the Troll Peninsula in north Iceland, using Klængshóll as their base camp.

Warren Miller Face of Winter Iceland

The crew from Warren Miller Entertainment visited Arctic Heli Skiing in Iceland in May 2018 to film a segment for the 2018 film "Face of Winter". Skiers Anna Segal, Amie Engerbretson and Jonny Moseley enjoyed skiing the endless runs on the Troll Peninsula as well as getting a little taste of the Icelandic culture.

"Face of Winter" Iceland Segment Teaser

Last May the Warren Miller crew with skiers Jonny Moseley, Amie Engerbretson and Anna Segal joined us at Arctic Heli Skiing, which is featured in their latest film, "Face of Winter". The full movie will be coming to a theater near you in October, in the meantime we invite you to enjoy this little teaser.
Be sure to visit this page in October to see the full segment.

Warren Miller Entertainment with Arctic Heli Skiing

In the winter of 2013 we at Arctic Heli skiing had the great pleasure of hosting Warren Miller Entertainment for two weeks as they shot a full segment for their ski movie Ticket to Ride. Bringing with them an all time crew of female athletes, including Olympic Gold medalist Julia Mancuso, World freeride champ Jess McMillan and the rapidly rising star Sierra Quitiquit. It is safe to say that good times were had by both the skiers as well as the crew and our guides sure enjoyed the company of these hard charging ladies. We are proud to present the full Iceland segment here on our website.

Team Movement with Arctic Heli Skiing in Iceland

This video features Team Movement skiers Romain Grojean and Ilir Osmani heli skiing on the Troll Peninsula in northern Iceland with Arctic Heli Skiing in 2012. The main purpose of the trip was to capture video and stills for the ski company Movement from Switzerland for their 2013 advertising campaign but what you see is the fun part. The skiers not only visited the mountains of the Troll Peninsula but also some of the great natural wonders of the region such as Lake Mývatn Nature Reserve and Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

Salomon Freeski TV

In March 2014 Arctic Heli Skiing had the honor of hosting the Salomon Freeski TV crew including skiers Andreas Fransson, Chris Rubens and Mark Abma. The film crew consisted of Jeff Thomas and Anthony Bonello off Switchback Entertainment. In addition writer Leslie Anthony and photographer Mattias Fredriksson joined this all star crew to create the first episode in the Salomon Freeski TV Season 8.

The video is dedicated to the memory of Andreas and JP Auclair who tragically perished in an avalanche in Patagonia in September 2014.

East Greenland Heliskiing

In May of 2016 Warren Miller Entertainment visited the East coast of Greenland where they shot a full segment for their ski movie Here, There, and Everywhere. Bringing with them snowboarders Seth Wescott and Rob Kingwell. Enjoy the full Greenland segment here on our website.

Troll Peninsula - Heli Skiing in Iceland

The first proper heli-skiing film shot on the Troll Peninsula was this good little flick featuring Swedish freeskiers Per Jonsson and Fredrik Ericsson in 2010. This was to be Fredrik's last ski trip before he sadly perished in an attempt to ski the notorious K2 that same year. A true trail blazer in the freeskiing world and a great friend to all, his memory lives in these images. The film was shot and edited by Erik Henriksson and the veteran Iceland ski photographer Fredrik Schenholm covered the still photography.

Outside Television Dispatches - Iceland

The late spring, early summer heliskiing in Iceland is fast becoming a must do thing in the world of heli-skiing and snowboarding. With the never setting midnight sun and super stable and consistent spring corn snow, skiing does not get much better. Outside Television visited Arctic Heli Skiing on Iceland's Troll Peninsula and tried some of this legendary heliskiing and they were smitten. There is simply nothing quite like skiing up until midnight in the orange glow of the never setting sun from summit to sea shore, right below the Arctic Circle.

June Heli Skiing on the Troll Peninsula - Iceland

A short and sweet example of what June heli skiing is all about with the midnight sun lighting up the slopes. Our good friend and former US ski racing power house Warner Nickerson shot this during his week with us. It's hard to describe the magic of midnight sun heliskiing in Iceland but this video gives you a little taste of the spectacle that takes place between the middle of May and the end of June. With almost no avalanche danger, comfortable temperatures, sunny lunches on the beach followed by some swimming for the brave at heart, there is no wonder why heliskiing in June is the favorite of our guides and guests.
