Bergmenn Mountain Guides the parent company of Arctic Heli Skiing has just invested in a new ski touring lodge on the Troll Peninsula in Northern Iceland, Karlsá Lodge. Karlsá will now serve as the primary ski touring hub for the company and a prime location for a cozy lunch on frisky days of heli skiing.

There is simply nothing quite like heliskiing in Iceland under the orange glow of the Midnight Sun. In June we enjoy 24hrs of daylight in Northern Iceland and the Troll Peninsula sees the coming of summer as millions of migratory birds arrive and the hardy Arctic vegetation takes bloom. But even though summer is in the air, there is actually no time better for heliskiing in Iceland than June.

There´s summer in the air, birds are singing and the sheep are out roaming the valleys. Even though the valleys are turning green and the farmers preparing for the first grass cut there´s still plenty of skiing to be done here on the Troll Peninsula in Iceland

Last winter we at Arctic Heli skiing had the great pleasure of hosting Warren Miller Entertainment for two weeks as they shot a full segment for their latest ski movie Ticket to Ride bringing with them an all time crew of female athletes, including Olympic Gold medalist Julia Mancuso, World freeride champ Jess McMillan and the rapidly rising star of Sierra Quitiquit. We at Arctic Heli Skiing are fortunate to meet many good skiers through our work and sometimes even great skiiers. When working last winter in Iceland with ski movie legends Warren Miller we got to know three more great skiers. There was one big difference in the skiers group this time, all of them were girls. Two of them we knew of before they arrived; Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso and freeskiing world tour champion Jess McMillan. The third one, Sierra Quitiquit was a new name in the book for us. In March 2013 we had the great pleasure of hosting Warren Miller Entertainment in Iceland as they shot a segment for their new film, Ticket to Ride.
